What others are saying about the Stay Alive program

“The Stay Alive programme is such a helpful programme to our pupils both in school and out of it. It has helped our pupils to learn the life skills. And they now own their life! And as such they have the guts to say no to men. It has reduced the number of pregnancies in school and early marriages.”

“Society is trying to change us from the outside in; Stay Alive changes you from the inside out.”

“What we are giving the children is much more important than money; it is about life.”

“I was pleased to learn of the many children in Kenya between the ages 9 and 14 who have benefited from the Stay Alive programme currently being taught in several of our public and private schools. We believe that this abstinence-based programme, which teaches our children consequential decision making skills and enhances better communication with parents/guardians, is fostering positive behavioural changes and is preparing the next generation to remain HIV/AIDS free. Stay Alive is an essential element of our total HIV/AIDS effort. We would like to see Stay Alive expanded throughout Kenya.”
-- Dr. Keneth L. Chebet, Director, NASCOP/NLTP, Ministry of Health, AIDS/TB/LEPROSY DIVISION, Kenya

“The program is a great help here in our area. It educates parents and the community as a whole on the danger of HIV/AIDS. Stay Alive gave the parents a way of communicating with their children, making the children more free with them. We thank you.”

“Because of the program we have learned to sympathize with and not fear those suffering from AIDS. I thank you because my children and I are firmly united because of the Stay Alive program”

“The Stay Alive Program has really responded well to the children. It has enlightened their lives. I know this by the way they were reasoning before the lessons and the way they are reasoning now. As a parent, it has given me a good reflection of my character. I now have a different understanding of the HIV/AIDS disease. The trainers tell me to be a good example, and Stay Alive has helped build the child as well as me as the parent.”
